It is used to treat viral infections like shingles, cold sores and genital herpes. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to it. Take this medicine exactly as directed by the doctor. You may experience side effects like headache, nausea, dizziness and sensitivity to light. These side effects usually go away with time, but if you feel your condition deteriorates, you should consult your doctor or visit the hospital. Contraindications of Valcivir

If you experience bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, blood in urine, fits, and bleeding from the nose or mouth, you should stop Valcivir 500 Tablet and seek emergency medical support and advice.
